Competition Format

There will be 2 main parts of the competition that all contestants will be taking part in.

Part A

A combination of multiple choice, true or false, and numerical response questions from fields such as chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, and more! (Questions are tailored to the division.)

Part B

A final hands-on activity in the form of a science relay. Contestants/teams will have to put their problem-solving skills to the test by solving a series of science-related challenges as fast as they can!

Divisions

All contestants/teams will be accordingly sorted into two divisions, and will compete with other contestants/teams in the same division.

The division that a team will compete in is determined by the grade of the teammate that has completed the highest grade of the two people. For example, if a contestant has finished grade 8 this year, but their teammate has finished grade 9 this year, together their team will be competing in the senior division (grades 9-10), despite one of the teammates fitting under the junior division individually (grades 7-8).

Junior Division

Contestants who have finished grade 7 or grade 8 during the 2023-2024 school year, or contestants who have finished a grade lower than grade 7 and are up for the challenge!

Senior Division

Contestants who have finished grade 9 or grade 10 during the 2023-2024 school year.
